Snorkeling around Casuarina Point

DIY.....

1. There are quite a few areas that make for a great day snorkeling. Using the motorized boat you can access the coral heads just inside the reef line. The are dotted with beautiful yellow and purple sea fans and many different kinds of Corals. There are schools of many different kinds of fish as well as other sea life such as sea anenomies, star fish, turtles, rays and more. We provide you with a google image for you to navigate your way to these. There is a fisgh identifying guide at each house.

2. You can also snorkel off and completely around Point of Spit and find sea biscuits and other small shells. You will sea small fish, a variety of immature conchs and lots of beautiful sea grass.

3. There is beautiful Little Bay, if you go, do not forget your snorkel gear. It is fun to snorkel close to the shoreline to look for small shells. You will see some fish as well and occasionally there are pods of dolphin playing in the area. The area has a beautiful sandy bottom and a lovely swimming beach.

4. Approximately 50 yards South East of the large Sandbank there is an old boat trailer that has lovely schools of fish.

Guided.....

I can recommend a great guide to take you snorkeling if you wish for a carefree day with someone in charge of the boat. It will take the hunting for the coral heads out of the equation. It is a good idea for those who are unsure of using the boat to get a guide for the first day or so that you are here. It is totally optional.

Hiring a charter is a great way to go. Everyone gets to relax and enjoy the day. Let the captain take you where he knows you want to go.

We recommend Capt. Plug, Stafford Patterson. He is VERY knowledgable and great fun. It will be a day to remember. Go to his website for more information and suggested itineraries for your day on the water.
